The Third Volume of Mystery Theatre presents possibly one of the scariest camp fire stories of all time, W.W. Jacobs"The Monkey's Paw." Let's set the scene. Someone is given a magical monkey's paw that grants wishes. When that person makes a wish, the wish comes true but at a cost to the wisher. For example, you may wish to bring someone back from the dead. With all that time lying in its grave, what sort of shape do you think the corpse will be in? Hmmm? Next, we bring you two stories by E.T.A. Hoffmann. "The Mines of Falun" and "The Sandman." "The Mines of Falun" suggests that one should always take the advice of a 150 year old miner. "The Sandman" is a story of the origins of one man's insanity. His insanity begins as child upon being told, by his parents, the traumatic bedtime story of "The Sandman."
Finally, with great pleasure we bring you "Double Strip" by Otto Lowy. How many spies can there be in one bar at one time, posing as if they are all there on business, watching a beautiful young lady perform the dance of the seven veils? Is there more to her little jig than there appears?
